Personal Italian-language learning app

Articoli is a single-user language-learning app. It has no advertising, analytics, social features or commercial user accounts, and it does not sell personal data.
Information stored on your Apple devices
Articles, generated exercises, answers, review history, writing corrections, learner settings and estimated API costs are stored locally by the app. A Cloudflare Access service token is also stored locally on each device and is not included in iCloud synchronisation.
Private iCloud synchronisation
Learning data is synchronised through Apple CloudKit in the user's private iCloud database so that it is available on that user's iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is not placed in a public CloudKit database or shared with other Articoli users. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
AI processing
When the user requests exercise generation or feedback, Articoli sends the text needed for that request—such as an article, answer, writing sample and relevant learner context—over an encrypted connection to an access-controlled Cloudflare proxy and then to the Anthropic API. This is used only to provide the requested app functionality and is not used by Articoli for advertising or tracking.
Articoli does not intentionally log request bodies on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process limited network and security metadata to route and protect the request. Under Anthropic's standard commercial API terms, API inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from Anthropic's backend within 30 days, subject to Anthropic's stated exceptions for legal and usage-policy needs.
Other server-side information
A short-lived daily budget record stores the date and estimated aggregate API spend. It does not contain article text, answers or writing samples.
Your choices
- Removing the Cloudflare token disables new AI generation and correction.
- Deleting Articoli removes its local data from that device.
- Private CloudKit data can be removed using Apple's iCloud storage controls.
- Anthropic automatically removes API inputs and outputs under the retention period described above.
